The NE monsoon is the season for advanced sailors,windsurfers and kiters, with winds pushing 20 knots or more and a sea heaving with 2m swell or higher that has a habit of breaking both far out and closer to shore. In other words, these NE months bring conditions that are challenging enough even for hard-core sailors, windsurfers and kiters.

The SW monsoon is a milder wind of about 15 knots max. It does occasionally exceed this, but generally it is a more sedate breeze, ideal for long cruising, windsurfing or kiting runs.
